Dr. Kevin Johnson
Dr. Kevin Johnson, Lt Col, USAFR, Ret., was raised in Minnesota, studied as an undergraduate in England, received a Masters Degree in Communication from LSU, and secured an Air Force Health Professions Scholarship for his Doctor of Optometry Degree at the University of Houston, TX, graduating in 1995.
He served on active duty in the United States Air Force in Colorado and The Republic of Panama before settling down in Hendersonville, TN in 2003, where he and his lovely wife TK marvel at the joy and challenges of raising 2 young boys named Paul and Luke. Free time includes golf, fishing, biking and kid fun.
Dr. Johnson brings over 25 years of extensive civilian and military eyecare experience to his optometric practice.
He is board certified in therapeutics to treat and manage ocular disease, spending the last decade in an ophthalmic surgery clinic, caring for LASIK, cataract and glaucoma patients. He continues to enjoy annual reserve duty in the 10th Aerospace Flight Medicine Squadron at the U.S Air Force Academy, where our nation’s future fighter pilots receive premier eyecare ranging from LASIK surgery to specialty contact lens fitting.

Dr. Frye
Dr. Thomas Frye was born in Jackson TN, and grew up in South Carolina where he attended USC prior to his studies at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis TN. He secured a medical externship at Fort Jackson, graduating as a Doctor of Optometry in 1987.His practice focus in Hendersonville for over 30 years is upon contact lens fitting and ocular pathology.
Dr Frye approaches optometry as a “whole body care,” maintaining that “the eye is not an island, but rather a fascinating window interconnected to our overall systemic health.”Dr Frye’s passion for learning is reflected by his maintenance of expanded scope credentials in 3 states including TN, KY and SC, where he attends rigorous continuing education courses ranging from injectable medication to treatment by ophthalmic lasers.Not only known as the “contact lens whisperer,” having extensively examined their characteristics and benefits, he is also an avid antiques collector and gardener, 30 years married to the wonderful Mrs. Karen. They have a son named Seth as well as several canine kiddos who keep their lives and kennels full.
Dr. Carrie Lehman
Dr. Carrie Lehman is one of the rare Nashville natives who grew up in Hendersonville. After graduating from Hendersonville High School, she attended Rhodes College in Memphis and received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy. Her studies opened up the world with a semester abroad in England, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in 2004, focused upon family eyecare.
Dr. Lehman spent 16 years in a multi-specialty optometry practice in Memphis, TN, where she was recognized as one of the most compassionate and brilliant on staff. In February 2020, love for family and friends brought her back home to Hendersonville, where she excitedly joined the Johnson i-Care family. She practices full-scope optometry caring for patients of all ages. Her primary strength is in balancing being knowledgeable along with an excellent bedside manner. She excels in providing her patients the best possible eye health exam, as well as optimal and comfortable glasses and contact lens prescriptions.
Dr. Lehman truly carries a heartfelt commitment to family, friends and scores of patients who request her by name everyday. Her coworkers describe her as caring, informative, hard-working, witty, conscientious, intriguing and genuine. Dr. Lehman is a lover of live music, cooking and travelling, as well as a movie buff with gifted passion for trivia.
TK Johnson, MBA
TK Johnson was born and raised in Saigon, the oldest daughter of a Vietnamese warfighter pilot who was shot down and imprisoned for the first 6 years of her childhood. She arrived in America at the age of 13, and quickly learned a new language before graduating from Vanderbilt University with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, prior to completing graduate studies at Belmont University where she received her Master’s in Business Administration, following European studies in 2008.TK’s years of study were complemented by a full-time work schedule, interrupted only intermittently by a noted love for books, friends and annual travel to undisclosed and at times exotic lands.TK is currently focused upon raising 2 handsome boys named Paul and Luke, shoulder to shoulder with husband Dr. Kevin Johnson, while working full time as Office Manager at Johnson i-Care, where her passion for serving people is met with equal passion for top shelf vision care.
